By all measures, I've "made it, " but I suddenly realized that while I love and crave time alone, I really want to share my life with someone. I love SIMPLE things; days in my garden, walks along the lake, picnics, hiking, bike rides, Saturdays in small towns, and time with my dog. I also love the arts, culture, and learning. I'm committed to the environment, belong to a co-op, and would love to find a "cause" to which the special person in my life and I would merge forces and make a part of our relationship. I'm getting back to being fit (avg build turned 40!), I'm a bit of a tomboy, and while I'm not the mini-skirt type, you will find me happily in my kitchen in an apron making muffins most Sunday mornings. I love classical music, candlelight, and a glass of wine to end the day. I'm a practicing Catholic who grumbles a lot at Church teachings and politics, but who can't leave the Church, either. Being Catholic is the culture of my family, it is part of who I am, and the more I question, the more I believe. I value family, cherish long time friendships, and am looking for someone who feels and does the same. I'm attracted to fit men who are grounded in who they are and have embraced their softer sides. I am also attracted to men who are looking for real friendship, and not something less and faster. If you are a soft-spoken man who is content alone, but, like me, wants to share life with someone, please say hello! Monogomy with me is a must, so no players, please. Wood workers, gardeners, guys with real hobbies, and men who are avid readers are a plus! No egos please. I'm looking for a real person, humble before God and trying to use his gifts in life to make a real contribution.

My goal in life is to be secure and to use the gifts I've been given to make a difference for others. I love the line in the song "I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean..." We have so many opportunities to give back, and I want to have done that where possible. Beyond this, I want to be a rock for people I love. After this, I want to have enjoyed life and lived to the fullest, in a simple, unexpectant way. I want to emulate my grandparents.

I look for a man who is grounded, soft-spoken, real, solid, reflective, secure, well-read, with hobbies and interests that do not require a lot of external stimulation. I look for a man who loves his mother and holds family dear. I look for a man who is honest, has integrity, and wants a real relationship, founded on a friendship that is worth taking the time to build. I look for a good listener, who is gentle and kind, always. I look for eyes that allow me to see the heart beneath and to imagine the soul.
