I Would Describe Myself As
I was a wannabe monk in my early 20's, which rather cramped my dating opportunities :-), but having left that behind me many years ago, I still haven't
caught up with the crowd!
The contemplative streak has stuck with me, and I love walking, particularly coasts and mountains with a particular bent for Wales and Cornwall. After a long break I'm trying to get back into a bit of long distance running, but I'm feeling it a bit!

My Idea Of Fun Is
My main interest at present is Japanese which I started learning a few months ago, and is taking up a fair chunk of my spare time. This came from a love of Asian art and movies, as well playing the Japanese game "go". Although I've traveled a fair bit Europe and the US, I've never reached Japan, but hope to in the next year or two, and it would be great to have someone to take along.
I love theatre and "arthouse-y" movies, having enjoyed "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Lost In Translation" recently, but more mainstream stuff too ("THE 300" was great :-) ) Also confess to a secret "X Factor" obsession...
Love lasagne and chips :-) And real ale - and crispy duck! Love some of TV stuff Kenneth Branagh's done - "Shackleton" and "Conspiracy" - thought "Susanna Clarke's" "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" was brilliant. Love choral music and Rachmaninov!
Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins - wonderfully clear and evocative.
Remains of The Day by Kasuo Ishiguro - bri

What Do You Find Attractive?
Intelligence, Good Looks, Humor, Empathy, Sensitivity, Spontaneity, Wit, Thoughtfullness
What Do You Look For?
I'm hoping to find someone with a similar laid back attitude to life, not too cynical or stressed by the world. Some sympathy with a Catholic outlook would be good but certainly no need to be one themselves. I like people who are confident, but with a gentle streak to their nature, sociable but with a yen for the contemplative - walks in the hills more than nights out clubbing :-)
What Kind Of Relationship Are You Seeking?
