I enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate the finer things as well. I'm comfortable in casual attire or formal wear, whichever the occasion calls for.

I am a widower and was happily married. Family is important to me and I am close to my adult children.

I like to travel, and though I live in the country I take trips to the city for cultural events or an interesting weekend away. I also like to go camping sometimes in the slow season - but not in a tent, the ground has gotten harder as the years have passed!

I like to read, mostly non-fiction books. I watch very little television and when I do, I usually watch classic black-and-white movies. although, doc martin, upstairs downstairs, Foyles war and other such shows are favorites. Are you familiar with Babette's feast? i read once that it is a favorite of Pope Francis. I was glad to know it because it is a great favorite of mine. I never watch violent or vulgar programming of any kind.

I am in very good health and take good care of myself with regular exercise and a wholesome diet. I don't have any tattoos or body piercings and I have never had any type of plastic surgery. I don't do drugs, or smoke, or drink excessively and I don't frequent the bar scene. I am a moral person and follow the teachings of the church in that respect. that's not as "square" as it sounds, I do enjoy a glass of wine or a nice craft beer on a special occasion.

I am peaceful by nature. I don't like drama or conflict. I am optimistic and look for the best in people. I enjoy social outings but also appreciate quiet times just as much or more. I tend to be a bit shy around people that I first meet, but do my best to warm up quickly, especially in easy conversations seasoned with tactful (even cheeky!) humor.

I like engaging and intelligent conversations about all kinds of things, especially current events and the wonders and blessings of our Catholic faith.

I love life and am so grateful to our heavenly father for the beauty of our earthly home. I am enthralled by the vastness of the night sky and thrilled by the intense beauty of a flower. the marvels of creation are never-ending.
