I am a recently widowed father of eight and grandfather of 11. My wife and I were married for almost 38 years and enjoyed a vibrant and fulfilling married life until Lou Gehrig's disease cut it short. I am still working through the grieving process but am interested in meeting people who can be friends and perhaps develop into more.

I am a public school principal. I love kids (we had 8 after all) and enjoy my work. I anticipate working for several more years and then retiring. I'd like to find a woman who also enjoys kids and would like to travel. Because of the demands of my job, raising a family, and caring for my wife in her last years, traveling has been a low priority.

I like to camp, garden, fly fish, read mystery novels, snow ski, hike, shop at REI, and watch ESPN College Game Day every Saturday morning during college football season. I am wild about the Oregon Ducks since I graduated from there in 1974.

I am a strong believer in the teachings of our Church. I attend mass every Sunday and try to frequent daily mass at least twice a week. I lector at our parish. I have always been active in ministry and am looking for a potential spouse who is also in love with God.

My ideal mate would be a godly woman, willing to accept my large, dynamic, and slightly manic family. She would have no impediments to marriage or remarriage. She is smart, cute, witty, sensitive, compassionate, and capable of seeing God in a beautiful sunset or green forest.

I am not looking for a mother for my kids - just a special woman with whom I click. Not in a hurry here - I believe God will provide just the right person in His perfect timing.

I love to camp in surrounding national forests and wilderness. I find God very real in nature. I like dining out and enjoy a bottle of red wine while watching the sun set. I enjoy just hanging out watching TV or a video. I love to travel, ski, garden, remodel my adobe house, and read. My favorite places are the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, Pecos River, Jemez Mountains, and my own backyard on a sunny day with the fountain flowing and friends and family.

I am more attracted physically to blondes who are average height and on the slim side. Regardless of your size, color, or shape, my ideal mate has a sparkle in her eyes and finds life's glass half full. She is an optimist who loves God and the Catholic Church and could love me and my family.
