Hi thanks for looking at my profile, My world is one of a single dad with two primary school age daughters, both clever and articulate young women. One bullet proof the other very sensitive and creative. We live together three days and a week and the remaining days i work in a counselling role and work in an unusual environment that is quite demanding. I rebuild my self for another week by maintaining a large yacht, a smaller yacht, and a four little boats, and my house by the sea and its garden. I have two budgies, great friends but getting sick of having dinner with them all the time, would love to have someone to share my life and it would be nice to have a trusted friend who might be a soul mate.
I was happily married for 20 years, living the dream, working hard, and found myself confronted by a sudden and rapid relationship meltdown that came from nowhere and was given no chance to recover. I have grieved this loss and gradually recover. Its 4 years now and i am making tentative steps to finding a new partner. I have spent the last couple of years caring for my elderly mother and she has now died, we were good mates and it was an honour to see her last couple of years up close and personal. I have moved back into the home that i built myself whilst on long service leave and it is nice to be home.
I have been at times a daily mass attender, and at other times more of a buddhist catholic, and i enjoy learning about other faiths, but my catholic roots are strong and i keep returning to the faith. Kids are in catholic school, we have been active in Rosary making, and we have a room devoted to prayer which is private activity in my house. I struggle with the political church but have lots of time for the inner faith and spiritual questions.
I had cancer four years ago,surgery and radiotherapy, and have been clear since.
My girls and i have a workshop for general work and a studio/cubbie for painting and drawing. A garden in need to some love after being totally neglected for a number of years and we have plans, ..........we have a range of skills such as shopping, beach walking, sailing, between dogs at present but have been border collie people in the past. See lots of kids movies, chick flicks ( dad loves em) spend time on the couch at Borders Books with the kids, bunnings with a trolley and young ladies dangling off it, i have my own spot light card, just in herited sewing machine and over locker and trying to figure out how to thread them. Regular at build a bear and T2 at chadstone. I know how to clean house, do the food shopping, understand about toilet seats, can be honest when required iie does my bum look big in this, and i am a reasonable cook. ALso do gutters, lawns, etc, not good at spiders or snakes, But have daughter who is good at spiders. Use a humane mouse trap and still want to know how far a mouse can travel back from being dropped off on a walk along the foreshore. I am not a sportsman, i am a poor speller, and i am definitely not macho i have no interest in cars, boxing, rugby, cricket, or action movies. Love English comedy. Drink learl grey tea, coffee, ight beer, box wine, port and sherry. Will not drink and drive, do not smoke and have no peircing or tattoos.
Accept baggage as life experience and the sum total of who we are, Believe in suffering as the path to growth and love.
Personality is private with a potential to rise to the occasion for family and social events. Strong believer in family, caring for the older ones and the special needs.
Divorce, remarriage and the attitudes of the church leave me bewildered.as they do not seem to reflect the examples of Jesus. I will make my own way on that matter but i find it challenging.
6Ft 2in 130kg,???? brown greying hair, blue eyes, capricorn, told i have a resmblence to british actor Stephen Fry.
