Ik beschrijf mezelf als:
Hi! I have been divorced & on my own for a long time, having spent many years bringing up my daughter single-handedly. She is 17 now, at college and nearly independent, so I am trying to build more of a life for myself, rather than concentrate solely on my parental role.
I am a teacher and work full time, at the moment. I am very resilient, capable & independent but I miss having someone with whom to share life's experiences-both ups & downs!
I love walking in beautiful scenery & listening to music (I have recently joined a choir, which is great fun!). I garden but only because I have to (don't love that!), & like going to concerts, the theatre, ballet and eating out or relaxing at home. I like quiet country pubs -I'm not into loud places or night life.
I have a young outlook on life and most people don't think I look my age!
I am a 'cradle Catholic' I was brought up in a devout Catholic family and my faith is important to me. I had a Catholic education, until university where my horizons were widened as I met and made friends with many Christians from other denominations-so I feel I am quite ecumenical in outlook.
I attend the local Catholic church, I get involved in meetings and courses when I can but work commitments often make this more difficult these days-I was probably more involved when my daughter was at the local Catholic primary school, as I used to help run and organise the Children's Liturgy.
I love to travel and have visited many European countries on holiday-mostly mountainous ones! Northern & southern Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Norway & Corsica but I also love Italy! I have also (once, a very long time ago) visited The Gambia.
My favourite cities are Durham, Rome and Paris-in that order! I love the local Ribble Valley, Yorkshire dales, Lakes, Wales & Scotland. Last year's summer holidays was spent in Arran, on a Family Active holiday with my daughter where we tried out many different activities including abseiling, pony trekking, zip wires etc
I would like to meet someone who has time in their lives to slowly build up a loving,caring relationship and has plenty of energy to enjoy life and share fun and laughter.
